“What Would Satan Do? – Exposing the Deceiver”

Text: John 8:42–44

Lesson Description:

This thought-provoking lesson continues the What Would Satan Do? series by examining Jesus’ confrontation with the religious leaders in John 8. Before diving into the discourse, the lesson opens with a concise yet powerful exegetical commentary on Satan—his name, nature, and role throughout Scripture. With that foundation laid, we then explore the intense exchange where Jesus exposes the hearts of His opponents and identifies their true spiritual father: the devil.

Using John 8:42–44 as our primary focus, this lesson reveals ten strategic things Satan would do to keep people from truly knowing, loving, and following Jesus. Each point highlights how Satan distorts truth, manipulates identity, and weaponizes religious culture to obstruct genuine faith.

Believers will be equipped with discernment tools to recognize deception, defend their hearts from lies, and reaffirm their place as children of God. This lesson also includes a handout with study questions to reinforce learning, spark discussion, and cultivate spiritual clarity in a world clouded by confusion.
