Before You Blame the Fruit, Examine the Seed

There is a question that does not get asked nearly enough when we look at the struggles of the next generation: What did we hand them?

It is easy to look at young people today and catalog everything that seems wrong. The music is too loud, too crude, too violent. The attitudes are too entitled, too rebellious, too disconnected from faith. The choices seem reckless, the values seem hollow, and the direction seems lost. We shake our heads. We point fingers. We wonder what happened to this generation.

But before we blame the fruit, we had better examine the seed.

Salvation Is Not Optional: Understanding the Price That Was Paid for You

There is a story about a young man who used to ride with his father every Saturday. They traveled the same route, stopping at the same places, week after week. The boy always found it frustrating. All those stops seemed unnecessary. They were wasting time. He was convinced they could get to the destination faster if they just kept moving.

His father eventually passed away and left him the car. When the young man decided to take his own son on that same journey, he skipped most of the stops. He knew the route. He had ridden it dozens of times. He had everything under control.

Three quarters of the way home, the car stopped dead.

Later, going through his father's journal, he found an entry that stopped him cold. His father had written that he feared his son would one day get the car and it would stop before reaching its destination. Not because his son did not understand the ride, but because he did not understand the mechanics of the car.

This is precisely where many people find themselves when it comes to salvation. We know the language. We know the story. He died. He was buried. He rose again. But do we truly understand what went into the sacrifice? Do we grasp the mechanics of what actually happened, and why it was absolutely necessary?

The Problem Goes All the Way Back

To understand why salvation is mandatory, you have to go back to the beginning. Not to your childhood. Not to your first church service. All the way back to Genesis.

The Bible does not begin with sinful humanity. When God looked at everything he had made, he declared it good. Sin was not part of the original design. But in Genesis 3, something catastrophic happened. The serpent did not begin by handing Eve the forbidden fruit. He began by questioning what God had said. That single move, casting doubt on the word of God, is the same tactic that has been used against humanity ever since.

When Adam and Eve chose their own judgment over God's clear instruction, sin entered the human story. And here is what is critical to understand: sin is not merely doing something wrong. At its root, sin is the declaration that I know better than the God who created me. It is autonomy chosen over submission. It is the creature deciding it has more insight than the Creator.

Romans 5:19 makes the consequence plain: through one man's disobedience, the many were made sinners. Before you had a body, you already carried a charge. That is not a comfortable truth, but it is the truth.

What Sin Did to the Human Condition

Genesis does not let the story rest in the garden. By Genesis 4, what entered the heart had entered the house. Cain's anger, jealousy, and violence toward his brother Abel shows how quickly sin moves from a vertical fracture with God into horizontal destruction of relationships, families, and eventually entire societies.

By Genesis 6, the condition of humanity had reached a devastating conclusion. The Lord saw that every intent of the thoughts of the human heart was evil continually. This is not a picture of people who simply needed more information or better habits. This is a picture of a condition that no amount of education, legislation, or self-improvement could repair.

If the problem were simply ignorance, education could save us. If the problem were a lack of rules, more laws could save us. If the problem were poor habits, greater discipline could save us. But the problem had reached the heart. And a corrupted heart cannot fix itself.

Why We Were Helpless

Romans 5:6 uses a word that deserves serious attention: helpless. Not struggling. Not inconvenienced. Not basically good people who needed a little spiritual assistance. Helpless. Without the ability to repair what was broken.

Humanity could not undo Adam's rebellion. We could not remove our own guilt. We could not defeat death. We could not make ourselves righteous before a holy God. The debt existed, and it was a debt we had absolutely no means of paying.

This is why salvation is not a lifestyle upgrade. It is not joining an organization or adding a spiritual dimension to an otherwise unchanged life. Salvation is rescue. It is being pulled from a condition you could not escape on your own.

What the Last Adam Did

Romans 5:19 completes the picture: just as through one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of one, many will be made righteous. The first Adam brought condemnation. The last Adam, Jesus Christ, brought redemption.

There are several dimensions to what Christ's work accomplished. Justification means that God declares the believing sinner righteous on the basis of Christ's finished work. You cannot do enough good deeds to earn right standing before a holy God. But because of what Jesus did, when God looks at the one who has received Christ in faith, he sees the finished work of his Son.

Propitiation means that Christ's sacrificial death satisfied the righteous demands of God's holiness. The judgment that humanity deserved was absorbed by Christ on the cross. Redemption means the ransom was paid. The captive was set free. Reconciliation means the broken relationship between God and humanity has been restored. We are no longer enemies.

The Question That Cannot Be Avoided

All of this builds toward a question that every person must eventually answer. Not what church did you grow up in. Not whether your grandparents were faithful members of a congregation. Not whether you have ever walked an aisle or repeated a prayer.

Do you know Jesus? Do you understand what he saved you from and what he saved you to? Have you turned away from the direction you were heading and moved toward him?

The gospel of Jesus Christ does not promise that life will become easy. It promises something far greater. It promises that the debt has been paid, the relationship has been restored, and death no longer has the final word.

That is worth more than anything else you could ever be given. At the cross, everything changed. The question is whether you have received it.

 October is Youth Month: Preparing the Next Generation

Church family, **October is Youth Month at The King’s Worship Center International**, and our focus is clear: **Preparing the Next Generation.**

Psalm 78:4–8 reminds us that every generation has a responsibility to teach the next generation who G-D is, what He has done, and how they are to walk with Him. Our children are not simply the church of tomorrow. **They are part of the church today, and what we pour into them now helps shape who they will become.**

Throughout October, we will intentionally focus on **faith, identity, purpose, and leadership**, helping our children and young people understand that their lives have meaning in the Kingdom of G-D. We want them to know Scripture, encounter Jesus Christ for themselves, develop a biblical identity, and discover that G-D can use them at every age.

Parents, grandparents, guardians, and church family, **bring our children to church.** Make their spiritual development a priority. There are many voices competing for their attention, many influences attempting to define their identity, and an entire culture ready to disciple them if we do not. We cannot wait until they are adults to begin preparing them to stand.

**Bring the little ones. Bring the teenagers. Bring your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the young people connected to your family.** Invite another family to come with you.

We are believing G-D for a generation that will be **stronger in faith, secure in identity, clear about purpose, and prepared to lead.**

We are not merely trying to raise successful children. **We are raising disciples. We are preparing Kingdom leaders. We are preparing the next generation.**

On this Day 2 of Consecration, as we reflect on the courage of Rahab in Joshua 2, let us be reminded that God’s providence reaches every heart. Just as Rahab declared her faith, may we boldly proclaim God’s sovereignty over our ministry and family. Together, let’s trust His purpose and walk united in faith for The King’s Worship Center.

Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for being the God of heaven above and earth below, reigning sovereign over every detail of our lives. Today, we lift up The King’s Worship Center family. Unite our hearts, strengthen our bonds, and fill us with unwavering faith in Your plans. Just as Rahab acted in faith and trust, help us to embrace courage and obedience in our walk with You. Let Your presence guide us, and may Your purpose for this ministry shine brightly through every member. In Jesus' name, Amen.

On this first day of our corporate fast, remember that God is guiding your every step. In times of uncertainty, draw strength from His presence and courage from His promises. Trust Him fully as you seek His direction during this sacred time.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, as we begin this fast, we ask for Your guidance and strength. Help us to trust You fully and walk boldly in the steps You’ve prepared for us. Be our courage, our peace, and our hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today we are putting our prayer focus on salvation for those that are in leadership who may not know Jesus as their Lord and savior. We want those who are tasked to lead at any level to have Christ as their center, most-importantly for their eternal souls, but moreover, those who lead need Christ and The Holy Spirit to help lead and guide them as they (leaders) lead, guide, advise, and govern others.

During our prayer times today, make sure to pray for leaders in every area of local, regional, national government, law enforcement, military, corporate, and ministry—when we pray earnestly, we have the assurance that The Lord Gd hears us.

Day 1 Prayer Focus: Salvation of our church family and fellowship

Today, during our prayer times, we want to focus on asking Gd to touch the hearts of anyone within our ministry and fellowship who is unsaved. We cannot be blind to think every church goer has given their life to Christ, so today we ask Gd to touch hearts and minds and realize it’s time to commit fully to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This is a spiritual confidence believer possess. Yes, obstacles may come. Trials may get in our way. But we know God is fighting on our behalf, nothing can stand in our way. So, take a breath, and trust it is going to workout.

The Word of GD is a mirror reflecting the things that please GD to include our demeanor. There is no way that a discipled believer is a mean believer. Let the word of GD reveal what needs to be addressed, so that all you do and say is pleasing to GD!

God knows what we need even before we do. Sometimes we just pray...no words needed...just spend time with God. In the moments where you can't find the words to say, The Spirit of Gd will speak for you!

Entrust whatever you're going through to Gd. He can handle it- no matter what it is, it is not bigger than Gd!

Trust GD, stop worrying and know that He has everything under control!
